Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and GridGenius LLC ("GridGenius", "we", "us") and govern your use of the GridGenius website and apps (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.

1. The Service

GridGenius provides strategy-planning tools for video games, including top-down maps and a drawing layer. We may add, change or remove features over time. We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

2. Not affiliated with game publishers

GridGenius is an independent, fan-made tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by NetEase Games, Marvel or any other game publisher. Game names, maps, characters and related artwork are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and strategy-planning purposes only. Your subscription pays for the GridGenius software and service, not for any rights in third-party games or content.

3. Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use the Service, and you must have your parent's or guardian's permission if you are under the age of majority where you live. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens on your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Subscriptions, trials and billing

  • Free trial. New subscriptions may start with a free trial of 7 days. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your paid subscription begins automatically and your payment method is charged.
  • Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period (for example monthly) at the then-current price until you cancel.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
  • Price changes. We may change prices, and we will give you notice before a new price applies to your subscription. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
  • Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. You authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method for all fees and applicable taxes. If a payment fails, we may suspend access until it is resolved.
  • Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

5. Team plans

The owner of a Team plan controls which people are invited to it and is responsible for the plan's billing. Members' access to team features ends if they are removed from the team or the team subscription ends.

6. Your content

You own the boards, drawings and notes you create ("Your Content"). You give us a limited license to host, store and display Your Content only as needed to operate the Service for you and the people you share it with. You are responsible for Your Content and must have the right to use anything you upload.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • copy, scrape, bulk-download or redistribute the Service's maps or other content outside the Service;
  • share your account or resell access, other than through a Team plan's seats;
  • interfere with, reverse engineer or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service;
  • use the Service for anything unlawful, harassing or infringing.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms.

8. Our intellectual property

The GridGenius software, design, branding and the compilation and processing of the maps it provides are owned by GridGenius LLC or its licensors, subject to the third-party rights described in section 2. These terms do not give you any rights in them beyond using the Service as intended.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Maps may not exactly match the current version of a game.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GridGenius LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the Service. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will refund any prepaid fees for the unused period.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will notify you in advance by email or in the app. Continuing to use the Service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which GridGenius LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise.
