Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information GridGenius LLC ("GridGenius", "we", "us") collects when you use our website and apps, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information. Your email address and a password (or a sign-in from a provider such as Google) when you create an account. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication, and we never see them.
Billing information. When you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details and billing address, and we receive only limited information such as your subscription status, the last four digits of your card and your billing country. We never see or store your full card number.
Content you create. The strategy boards you draw (shapes, text, hero placements and map settings). These are stored in your browser, and on our servers once cloud saving is enabled for your account.
Usage and device data. Our hosting provider (Google Cloud) automatically records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and reliability.

Cookies and local storage

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage entries that are strictly necessary to run the service: a sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in, and browser storage that keeps your boards between visits. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use information

To provide the service: sign you in, save your boards and give you access to the features of your plan.
To process payments and manage your subscription.
To contact you about your account, billing or important changes to the service.
To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
To understand, in aggregate, how the product is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Service providers

We rely on a few providers to run GridGenius, and they process data on our behalf:

Google Cloud / Firebase: hosting, authentication, storage.
Stripe: payment processing and subscription management.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or GridGenius.

Data retention

We keep your account information and boards for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except for records we must keep for legal, tax or accounting reasons (for example, invoices).

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information at any time by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to complain to a data protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No online service can be perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you if a breach affects you as required by law.

Children

GridGenius is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

We are based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. By using GridGenius you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app.
